After months of tireless work we have finally launched the website and online app for BooksinKind. When we started this project we were amazed that this truly is the first of its kind. There is no other donation system that we are aware of that enables non-profit organizations to receive in-kind gifts as tax deductable donations, yet without the hassle of processing and monetizing said gifts. Most non-profits have little need for books or any other type of gift in kind, what they need is money. BooksinKind addresses this issue because it 1) allows supporters to give what they have (closets full of used books) and 2) allows charitable organizations to get what they need (moolah – $$$).
We are excited to see what this year will bring. We are still in beta, but we don’t anticipate this being a long process because we have spent so much time testing and re-testing the app already. Not only are we already planning out new features for our branded donation system, but we are also planning out new ways to allow supporters to give to the organizations that they support.
