BooksinKind was created because…
Taking in-kind donations is a mess
BooksinKind is a web app combined with a book buying service that takes care of all the dirty work associated with taking books as an in-kind donation for your organization. We do this by creating a unique branded checkout for your organization that uses your logo so that your supporters always know where their donation is going. When supporters make their donation of books they are given a FREE shipping label with our address on it and not yours. They send in the books and the value of their gift in kind is credited to your organization and paid in cash the following month. Meanwhile, your supporters get a tax deduction for their donation.
Raising funds for your non-profit isn’t easy
It is a time consuming process to run a non-profit organization and remain focused on the vision that prompted you to get started in the first place. Whether you are feeding orphans in Kazakhstan, helping students through your fraternity, serving people in your church or civic organization, or all of the above, you likely have to raise money in order to get things done. BooksinKind was created for you. BooksinKind is a simple book donation service that allows your organization to raise money through book donations without ever having to touch a book.
Supporters come in all shapes and bank account sizes
By adding BooksinKind as a revenue generating tool for your organization you are not simply increasing revenue for your non-profit, you are also increasing the pool of possible supporters that can contribute to your cause. Think of all the people who would love to support your organization that do not have the discretionary income to do so. With BooksinKind all they need is a closet full of used books and a willingness to go through a simply 4-step checkout process.
Students and books enthusiasts are now able to contribute to your organization in a way that makes sense to them. This makes you look like a rockstar for using creative methods to raise money for your non-profit organization rather than simply asking for cash.

All you have to do is promote your donation page; we will take care of the rest.

Payments are made for donations in the form of a check (in the mail) and checks are sent out the 15th day of the month following the arrival of your donations at our facility. For example, if we receive books from one of your supporters on July 23rd, then we will mail you a check for that donation, along with any others during that month, on August 15th. Minimum payment amount is $100.
Please keep in mind that a donation is not a donation until it arrives at our facility. If supporters go through the checkout process they are only halfway there, they still must mail their books in to our facility.

Simple, we are book resellers and we buy books in a variety of different ways. Our web application estimates the wholesale value of the books being donated, which is comparable to other book buyers online. When we receive the books we add them to our inventory and ultimately sell them at retail online.
